St John The Baptist Church

The St. John the Baptist Catholic Church represents that last major development at the Skaggs Catholic Center in Draper Utah. Framing the main entrance to the campus, the structure's contemporary architectural expression complements the clean lines and contemporary flavor of the existing complex. This 30,000s.f. building contains an 800-seat worship space, administrative offices and meeting areas that serve this young and rapidly growing parish. The building strives to evoke the sense of sacred through the use of expressive natural light; the contrasts of scale and colors; the articulation, modulation and graduation of the spaces relative to each other; and the sense of movement through patterns and repetition of elements.
